A Flower For Will

Angela Hayward made this flower in loving memory of Will and Derrion Johnson, another heart baby in Michigan who died about a week before Will. Angela's daughter, Eliya, was in the PCTU with Will last fall and we shared a room with her and baby Jorianna. Eliya passed away just after Christmas. This flower is next to baby Eliya's grave.

Josh and I are doing ok. We had a nice Easter weekend. After church yesterday, we visited Will's gravesite. It was Josh's first time since his burial. It was tough for him, but he is ok. We miss Will deeply. There isn't a moment that passes by when I don't think of him. He is constantly in my thoughts.

What a beautiful remembrance for Will. It is clear that all of the patient families in the PTCU at CS Mott Hospital remain closely tied together through a combination of worry for those in treatment, grief for the ones that died, and happiness for those that have successful completed their repairs. We have received notification that one of my Board Members, John Stokes, has made a generous donation to the CS Mott PTCU and that our neighbors at the lake, Larry & Joanne Lawson have made a generous donation in Will's honor to their church Memorial Scholarship Fund which was established for their daughter who died a few years ago.
Happy Easter, we love you. Daddy and Pat

so good to read an update from you!
i hope that God lifted you/ Josh and was able to grant you some sort of peace during your visit to the cemetery. Take comfort in knowing that Will truly is not 'there' at the cemetery, but in Heaven and in your hearts.

    much love,
